Russell Westbrook was born on November 12, 1988, in Long Beach, California. Westbrook's dad showed him how to play at a very young age.

In 2012 he led the the Oklahoma Thunder to the finals sadly they lost but Westbrook became the league's most dynamic player.

He attracted most high schools at only 5'8 as a freshmen he was one of the quickest players on the team. Sadly his teammate died after a pickup game, left Westbrook with a whole in his heart.

The summer he underwent a growth spurt, which made him one of the biggest college prospect. His final height is now 6'3. As a senior he averaged more then 25 points per game. UCLA one of the biggest basketball recruited him.

He helped them make it to the final four 2 years running. Did not only helped them get to the final four but he go defensive player of the year as a sophomore. He got drafted as the fourth overall pick in the first round the Seattle supersonics which became the Oklahoma Thunder.

He was the fifth player in the NBA to average 4,000 points, 1,500 assists and 1,000 rebounds by the end of his third career.

Russell still plays for the Thunder, but since Kevin Durant left he had big shoes to fill. Every game averaging 25.4 point, 10.3 assist and 9.4 rebounds.

He also make a foundation called the (Why Not?), and gave a generous donation the college he went to (UCLA). The Why Not Foundation is to help empower children and inspire them to never give up.

The saddest thing that happened to Russell was when Durant his (side kick) left him. To the Golden State Warriors. Every since then they became enemies. People call Durant a snake because he left Russell to join a championship team, however this is true and I agree with the opinion.

Russell Westbrook quotes:

"Every day when I get on the floor I give it my all and play, because you never know what tomorrow holds".

"I've always had to prove myself to people growing up. I had to show them that I could do this and I could do that and paying no mind to what the critics said."

"I say, 'Why not' to everything."

Most of he's quotes spoke to me because he had a rough childhood, and it really wasn't easy for him and I could relate to that. So for him to say those words made me feel like I still have a chance to follow my dreams. Russel is so different compared to most NBA stars. Like for example he calls his family and relatives before every-game. I like that about him, he does everything differently he is just himself he is not trying to act like someone else.

In my opinion, he is different because he is considerate. Yes he is a ball hog,and he also donates lots of earnings to the Why-Not Foundation, and colleges.
